How about creepy regular newbies? Or are they really regular creeps in a newbie's clothing?

I say let the newbies suffer the slings and arrows and pay their dues like the rest of us! Why, when I joined the forum, men were men, and it was snowing, and I was barefoot, and when I spoke, Ashes and Arbuthnot and McGlone literally attacked me with offers of CDs by mail and I was so frickin' upset by these pussy grabbing mo-fos that I...I...er...nevermind. But, about that Brit Lit guy--the little Brit Shit, that guy, well...okay...just had to get that out there.

Peace Out and I am outta here

You bring up an excellent point regarding the regular "hazing" that can go on here. I recall as well my first forays into this strange little world were not always met with positive responses. But I didn't have a cow (I think we know who did, though), pick up my toys and leave the sand box. Other forums may be "kinder and gentler", but this one I think better reflects the real world.

As a very-much-still-a-newbie, having just joined in the fall, your point resonates with me. One of my first posts was something like "where can I find good GD photos", and I got some deserved jabs for posing such a generic, basic question. However, the more I read through older threads and began to get a sense of the personalities (not to mention the wealth of knowledge), I easily put it all in perspective. Alongside those that took me to task, though, I always got helpful responses from others. Just like the real world, it's rough and tumble out there, but if you ask you generally get help from people.

4 months into the board, I still marvel at the fact that no one beat up on my handle name! An awkward combination of 2 song names, conceived hastily, is now an embarassment for me. But alas, I won't resurface with another name since it might appear I was dodging my record....

No need to regret the name. I've had to endure endless months of homophobic rants over my name. No biggie. 10 bonus points for sticking with us bored, lazy, jobless dumbfucks.

But THAT is my job!

I work hard at each and every aspect, especially lazy, and the ignorance component is getting easier as I age.

It's my esteemed opinion that as your ignorance grows, your prostate does so at the same rate.

"Just remember this. All agents defect, and all resisters sell out. That's the sad truth, Bill. And a writer? A writer lives the sad truth like anyone else. The only difference is, he files a report on it."

It just means that the manifestation of your ignorance is preserved for posterity - some people's forum posts serve much the same purpose ...

If I had been more steeped in the LMA when I joined last spring, I wouldn't have chosen this name. I would have been Ogg Vorbis! But that's probably already taken... :(
